What was Crow Fair like?

Just another little dance?

Big!

If you get there, you will see why they call it the tipi capital of the world. It is!
Several hundred tipis fill the camp, not to mention the other tents and campers. Dancers come from all over the country.

Here you can see the dance arena in front of the building. Just a small part of the grounds.

Crow Fair is located South of Billings, MT along the Little Big Horn River, just a short distance from the site of Custer's last stand (or fall, depending on how you see it).

If you are going to Crow Fair, be prepared to hunt for a camping site. Even though the grounds are large, most camping sites are reserved by families that come back every year. Ask before you set up camp.

In addition to the dance that goes on for days, there is a rodeo nearby each day. There is also a parade through the grounds each day. Many people dress themselves and their ponies up in there finest for this show. Many of the ponies have four wheels instead of legs. The color and craftwork is incredible.

If you haven't been there yet, put it on your list of things to do at least once.
